Construction Technology Program

General Information About the Program

The Construction Technology Program, within the Department of Construction at Hacettepe University Başkent OSB Vocational School of Technical Sciences, was established in 2017. The program is a two-year associate degree program consisting of four semesters, offering both theoretical and applied courses.

The curriculum includes 30% elective courses. The majority of both compulsory and elective professional courses are conducted in a computer-based environment. Additionally, certificate training support is provided through various companies in the construction sector, and students benefit from professional field trips and seminars. The program is equipped with one computer laboratory and one concrete technology laboratory. A total of four faculty members are actively involved in the program.

The primary objective of the program is to educate contemporary construction technicians equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills required throughout all phases of construction projects, from the design stage to final delivery. Graduates gain expertise in materials, project management, cost estimation, quantity surveying, and practical application skills. They are also trained to oversee the design, implementation, supervision, and material testing processes while developing proficiency in computer applications. In addition to technical skills, the program emphasizes the acquisition of foreign language proficiency, communication, creativity, and entrepreneurship—qualities essential for professional success.

Graduates of the program find employment in various sectors of the construction industry, including infrastructure and superstructure construction sites, architectural and structural design offices, material production and marketing fields, concrete plants, as well as public institutions and organizations related to the construction sector.
